Ideas competition for the liturgical adaptation of the Duomo of Monselice
In developing the project concept, the architectural space was considered as a whole, with an in-depth study of the presbytery area and, for logical reasons, of the adjacent weekday chapel, as required by the brief. The design followed the guidance expressed in the CEI Guidelines on the “Adaptation of Churches according to the Liturgical Reform”. Christ in the Light of the Resurrection is placed at the centre and as the reference point of the Duomo of Monselice, because it is He who illuminates every celebration and the life of every person. Christ is depicted at the moment of the Resurrection, with His body detached from the cross and the shroud, both overcome through His victory over death: the cross is therefore no longer the end of everything, but Jesus’ sharing in human suffering and the certainty of the victory of Good.
