Garden with swimming pool, solarium area and relaxation area
The client requested the construction of a swimming pool for the B&B of the Musella wine-growing and wine-producing company. The landscape setting, of great value but subject to numerous urban planning, monumental, landscape and environmental restrictions, being close to the Fibio stream, required a particularly complex process that led to the creation of a swimming pool integrated as well as possible into the landscape and environmental context. The morphological and geological aspects of the area were assessed for the construction of the fully in-ground infinity pool, measuring 6 x 15 m. The pool has a structure made with the Isoblock 300KS isothermal formwork, which provides good wall insulation and allows the water temperature to be 3‐4 °C higher in the mid-seasons. The inside of the pool was lined with an Alkorplan ‘Elegance’ membrane, whose three-dimensional structure gives it a natural, elegant and refined appearance. The technical rooms are completely underground and accessible from the solarium paving, which was finished with Wpc boards. Particular attention was given to the water purification, filtration and treatment system. For the treatment, the D‐GEn advanced oxidation system was adopted, producing highly effective free radicals for water disinfection without the addition of chlorine or salt. The complete DAISY filtration system produces drinking-quality water. Particular attention was given to the choice of the plant composition around the pool area, in order to give the structure maximum naturalness and integration. Aromatic plants such as salvias and rosemary, ground-cover plants and decorative grasses such as Pennisetum and Stipa tenuissima, Muhlembergia capillaris, and groups of Aghapanthus surround the pool. On a second level, shrubs such as Loropetalum, Lagerstroemia and Oleanders complete the composition. In the shaded areas, compositions of shade-loving herbaceous plants such as Liriope and Carex alternate with groups of Calla.
